THE queen and her attendees for the upcoming carnival have been selected.

Following a talent show at Evesham Town Hall, where local children showcased their abilities, Teigan Koorts, 12, was announced as the queen for the Evesham Carnival.

The judges were impressed with the range of different talents on the day which included singing, reading, dancing and a gymnastics performance.

Katie Gilbert, chairman of Evesham Ladies Circle and one of the judges on the day, said: "It was such an honour to be on the judging panel, and I did not realise how tough the decision making would be.

"They were all fabulous and we applaud them all for being brave and performing in front of so many people."

Lauryn Carter, ten, was selected as carnival princess after performing a musical.

The attendees are Abigail Goodge, six, selected for her ballerina dance, Rosie Freeman, six, for performing a gymnastics routine, Lara Clements, seven, for her singing and Daisy Allford, five, for confidently reading The Gruffalo out loud and Freya Bonham, eight.

The carnival takes place at Crown Meadow on Saturday June 24.
