PERSHORE High School Eco Group have been involved in a fungi growing project organised by the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
They started off a box of Grey Oyster mushrooms in April and have carefully kept the contents warm, damp and out of direct sunlight to encourage them to grow.
The first signs of mushrooms were spotted on May 5 and they have “mushroomed” ever since.
The mushrooms have now been presented to the Food and Nutrition Department to be used in their recipes marking National Vegetarian Week.
