SUPPORTERS of a charity which helps people in third world countries raised £1,000 for the cause.

Action on Poverty supporters completed 5 classes at Evesham Leisure Centre in 5 hours.

The money raised will support marginalised and vulnerable people living in poverty across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

Alex Daniels, chief executive of Action on Poverty, said: "We are so incredibly thankful to our amazing APT stars for taking part and to the team at Evesham Leisure centre who kindly donated their time and expertise to help us host this event.

"We are humbled to have such amazing supporter’s that help us raise vital funds. Raising £1000 is a great achievement and will help dozens of families become self-reliant and build a bright a future out of poverty.”

Five in Five Fitness which took place on Sunday May 21 was the first time the charity had partnered with Rivers Leisure.

Action on Poverty wanted to use this opportunity to build relations and support from people living in the region. Participants completed classes in spin, metafit, zumba, body pump and circuit.

The charity's work is about allowing people to reach their full potential and to create self-sufficiency.
