MONEY was raised for homeless pets through a campaign by purchasing a scratch and match card at a pet shop.

Staff at Pets at Home in Evesham raised £641 to help homeless pets.

For four weeks, money has been raised for animal rescues in and around Evesham, as part of an initiative by charity Support Adoption For Pets.

Pets at Home stores around the country raised nearly £415,000 nationally.

Store manager, Adam Blanchard said: “What a fantastic result. We had so much fun raising money and are so grateful to all of our generous customers for taking part and donating much needed funds.

“It’s great to know that this money will go towards helping these charities to keep abandoned pets healthy and happy until they find a permanent home.”

Half of the money raised will be donated to pet rescues in Evesham, which are working hard to rescue and re-home abandoned pets.

The other half goes to the Support Adoption For Pets grant funding programme which allows charities to apply for additional funding to support their work.
