AIR training corps are celebrating after achieving their Flying Wings at RAF Tern Hill.

Alfie Thomas, 15, from 233 Pershore Squadron received his blue level wings whilst Alex Coombe, 15, earned his bronze wings.

Both cadets undertook ground training, including time on the flight simulator at RAF Tern Hill and had also completed a sortie in an RAF Grob Tutor aeroplane to put this training into practice.

Flight lieutenant Rebecca Pritchett, officer commanding 233 squadron said: “Its fantastic to see young people achieving their Wings through the Air Cadets progressive flying training, what 15 year old doesn’t want to pilot an aircraft."

Cadets from 233 Pershore squadron regularly undertake activities such as flying, shooting, fieldcraft, adventurous training, and a variety other aviation based opportunities.

Anyone between 12 and 18 is welcome to join and can email 233@aircadets.org for more information.
