A DOG who has spent almost two years for her new home is still searching.

Dogs Trust Evesham is appealing for a home for their cleverest canine resident, Cookie, who has been waiting for her forever home for more than 700 days.

In stark contrast to the average stay of 36 days for Dogs Trust residents, seven-year-old Crossbreed, Cookie, has seen over 1,000 of her four-legged friends head off to their forever homes since her arrival.

Cookie is known at the rehoming centre for her ability to put on an impressive display of tricks for her carer.

She is now looking to show off what she has learnt in front of new owners in a loving home of her own.

Ella Hooper, Cookie’s canine carer at Dogs Trust Evesham, says: “Cookie is a wonderful dog and whilst she’s bright, she does take a while to trust new people.

She is a slightly older dog and does have some medical problems, but she's still a lively, cheeky girl and loves to explore.

"Cookie does like her own space and doesn’t always enjoy fuss. But you’ll be rewarded with a cheeky, intelligent little dog who will entertain you in other ways.

"I love spending time with Cookie. She so funny and seeing her progress with her training and improve in confidence makes my day.

"She is looking for a patient home where she can put her paws up and with new owners who can help her feel secure. Once she’s settled, she’ll make a great pet with owners who enjoy the fun side of life.”

Cookie is looking for a quiet home without dogs or children.

"She does have a medical condition relating to her back and her legs, but Dogs Trust will assist her new family with all vet bills associated with this condition.
