A CELEBRATION service took place at St James' Church, Badsey to commemorate the opening of their Mothers’ Union branch 95 years ago.

Mothers’ Union is a registered charity within the Anglican church which works to support Christian family life.

There are over 4 million members worldwide, in 86 countries, and not all are women, men are welcome too.

The service was led by Revd. Philip Morton, vicar of Badsey and its other benefice churches, and the guest speaker was the Mothers’ Union chaplain from Worcester.

The service was followed by a ceremonial cutting of the birthday cake by Cllr Liz Eyre and the group's oldest member .
