A FORMER Worcester schoolgirl has been chosen as a finalist in a furniture makers competition with the Zebra table she made for her GCSE.
Courtney Broughton, a former year 11 student at Nunnery Wood High School, will exhibit the table she made at her GCSE controlled assessment at a national furniture makers competition.
Courtney, along with 79 other students from various schools and universities, will find out the winners for the Bespoke Furniture Makers Award, the Design Furniture Makers Award and the Innovation Furniture Makers Award in London on Tuesday, October 10.
Victoria Owen, head of design and technology, at Nunnery Wood, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Courtney and she is really excited.
"It’s also great news for the DT department and we have been invited to attend the exhibition.
"Courtney has always had a passion for Design and Technology and she has worked hard throughout her time at Nunnery Wood to produce outstanding pieces of work.
"We are so proud of her achievements and can’t wait to see her work on display in London."
