IF you want to discover where corn is as high as an elephant’s eye, join Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) as they celebrate the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

And unforgettable sing-alongs are being promised, because the audience will be welcome to join in. A spokesman said: “With the words on screen, a full PODS cast and live band led by musical director Andrew Hemming, there is the chance to sing along to evergreen tunes from the well-loved Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music.

“If anyone feels inclined dress up as a character from their favourite musical they can, but most of all go along and have fun and a good sing.”

The spokesman added: “To take part in an afternoon feeling Younger Than Springtime or Some Enchanted Evening, tickets are available from Number 8 on 01386 555488.

A retiring collection will be made for the BBC Children In Need Appeal and UK Cancer Research.”

The show is on Saturday, September 30, at Pershore’s Number 8, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
