EXPLORER scouts from Evesham’s Great Bear Unit were celebrating after coming first in the Venture class at the 34th annual ‘Trek’, a scout challenge hike organised by Redditch Scout District.
Starting from Inkberrow, teams of scouts, explorers and leaders work out their own route by connecting grid references supplied prior to the hike. Scouting skills are tested at each activity base and awarded with points.
Team ‘Great Bear’ came out on top after collecting more than 400 points and walking a total distance of around 20 kilometres within the 7 hours’ time allowed for the hike.
