A CARE home in Bromsgrove town centre has been busy fundraising for the charities closest to its residents' hearts.
Elderly residents and their families at Housman Court started with a sponsored walk up Bromsgrove's high street last month, collecting £82 for Alzheimer's Society in the process.
The event was organised by resident Ron Hart, who completed the length in his wheelchair.
The Housman Park home then hosted its own Macmillan Coffee Morning, selling their favourite sweet treats, which raised £29 for the charity's nurses.
Activities organiser Carina McAuliffe said: "The walk was a great success and a very enjoyable event for our residents who enjoyed the afternoon, and the coffee morning raised money towards a cause close to many people's hearts.
"Everyone enjoyed the event and sampled lots of nice cakes. I would like to thank all visitors, residents and relatives that came along on the day to make it a success."
