SMALL is beautiful - that's the message from a Worcestershire animal rescue charity which is looking for homes for three furry friends.

RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch has two male rats and a female ferret who all need a fresh start.

The two rats, called Booker and Haynes, were very timid, scared boys who jumped at the slightest noise when they came into the care of the branch.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "Now they are gaining in confidence every day and come out to sample a tasty treat or two - especially if it's a small piece of biscuit! They are real charmers and both in good condition."

Female ferret Tink is described as a little star and a sweetheart. She has been spayed and microchipped recently.

Mrs Hayes said: "Tink is a healthy young female ferret who is very playful and needs a knowledgeable owner who is confident in handling ferrets."

For more information on these small animals, call the centre on 07684 905707 between 8.30am and 4.30pm.

More rescued animals can be seen on the local branch website rspcaworcester.org.uk or call the centre on the number above for enquiries about cats, rabbits and small animals.

The centre in Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Worcester WR5 3FP is open to meet Booker, Haynes or Tink and the cats seeking adoption every day between 11am and 4pm (except Wednesdays).

Dogs are not on site. They continue to be boarded at private kennels until funds have been raised to build the kennel block at the Holdings. Call Geraldine on 01886 822083 for all dog enquiries.
