BROMSGROVE Art Society has apologised to members and visitors who were turned away from last month's meeting.

Chairman Michael Hurst said: "Lots of people came for the demonstration but, unfortunately, the entry codes on the door and alarm at the St John Ambulance Centre had been changed, and we hadn't been told at the time.

"Consequently everyone turned up, including David Wilcox who was to give the painting demonstration, and we couldn't get in, so the meeting had to be cancelled."

The issue has since been resolved, ready for the next meeting on Wednesday, October 18, when Rob Mason will be demonstrating a 'Cornish harbour scene' in oils.

Michael added: "Rob likes to contrast cool shadows with warm light. His work ranges from seascapes to landscapes in either oils or pastels, with the emphasis on atmosphere.

"I really am looking forward to this demonstration, especially as it will now be the first of our new season."

The demonstration with start at 7.30pm at St John Ambulance Centre in Barnsley Hall Drive.

Entry costs £1 for members, £4 for guests or £18 for an annual subscription. Hot drinks and biscuits will be available during the break.
