ABBEY Park First and Nursery School in Pershore, Worcestershire, has received a cash boost towards fundraising efforts to improve the outdoor facilities for its pre-school pupils.

Persimmon Homes, currently building new homes at its Mirabelle Gardens development on the northern fringes of the town, has contributed £750 towards an appeal to raise £4,000 for a new outdoor canopy and the donation has enabled the school to go ahead with the purchase.

The equipment will enable the children from the Abbey Park Pre-School, which relies on donations and fundraising to operate, to play outdoors all year round.

Sue Jennings, manager of Abbey Park Pre-School, said: “On behalf of the pupils, parents and staff at the pre-school, I’d like to say a big thank you to Taylor Wimpey for providing this generous donation towards our fundraising initiative.

“We’re passionate about providing the children with a versatile learning environment and a space where they can stay active, so we’re very pleased that this donation has enabled us to go ahead with the purchase of the new outdoor canopy.”

Anne Wallace, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Midlands, says: “We are proud to be supporting the pre-school at Abbey Park First and Nursery School by providing a donation towards the funds for its new outdoor canopy.

“We delighted our donation has enabled the school to reach its goal and hope the children all enjoy playing and learning under the new shelter.”
