EVESHAM'S Briony Stevens, 24, raised cash for cancer research with tuneful help from her team for the Relay for Life cause which supports Cancer Research UK, as well as Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) in which she is a regular performer.

PODS recently staged two Rodgers and Hammerstein Singalongs at Pershore’s Number 8 and a retiring collection raised £500 each for BBC Children in Need and Cancer Research UK.

“I’m so grateful for the generosity of our audiences and to my Relay for Life team and everyone in PODS who gave their talent for free” Ms Stevens said.

“So many lives, including that of my mum, are touched by cancer it’s great to know that money raised by Relay for Life teams across the country will fund more research to help fight the disease.”
