PERSHORE Tennis Centre hosted its first wheelchair tennis open day.

Tennis fanatics from around the county joined the team at Pershore Tennis Centre on Friday November 24, to take part in the event.

Sarah McCormick, club chairman at Pershore Tennis Centre said: “We were delighted to host our first open day for wheelchair tennis-players and are hoping to make it part of our regular programme of tennis at the club.

"The team also welcomed Harry Ash – disability development officer, The Tennis Foundation – who supported us in our event.”

Harry Ash added: "It was great to see such a variety of people playing wheelchair tennis in Pershore.

"The club has done a fantastic job with setting the open day up and Pershore are leading the way in Worcestershire with their disability programme. "The effort that goes into setting an open day like this up is certainly not something to be overlooked and shows the centre's dedication to becoming a truly accessible and inclusive tennis club."
