SIX new boundary signs have been installed in Evesham town centre.

The boundary signs are part of a much larger scheme of directional and tourist signage.

The scheme is being funded by Evesham Town, Wychavon District and Worcestershire County Council.

Councillor John Smith, cabinet member with responsibility for health and wellbeing, has allocated £2,000 from his divisional budget towards the costs of the signs, including one in Hampton, where he has lived all of his life.

A partnership of the above councils decided on the design for all 23 signs, improving highways signage throughout the town centre.

Councillor Smith said: "These signs will help both locals and tourists access all that Evesham has to offer, whilst promoting all the attractions and places to visit.

"They will also benefit those who are new to the town, putting Evesham on the map whilst also helping them to understand their eventual destination."
