STAFF at Evesham’s Regal cinema are celebrating after receiving congratulations from distributors Twentieth Century Fox for audience numbers to see Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Murder On The Orient Express.

The cinema recorded the third highest number of admissions among all independent cinemas in the UK

Laurence Wiper, of the Regal, said: “As a single screen independent cinema it is a great honour to have been recognised by one of the biggest film distributors in the world for our admissions for Murder on the Orient Express.

“This is a great achievement for the town! Thank you to everyone who came along and made this happen.”

Murder On Yhe Orient Express was screened on the first day of national release at the Regal and has made it into the top 20 films in Regal history based on the number of admissions.

The film features an all-star cast including Judi Dench, Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Penelope Cruz, Daisy Ridley and Willem Dafoe.

There are still plenty of showings throughout December and into the New Year, including a special New Year’s Eve screening where guests are invited to join staff in wearing their best period frocks and finest Poirot moustaches. Standard ticket prices apply.
