BATTERIES have been stolen from the traffic lights on the A44 in Evesham causing them to stop working.
Police received a call at around 1am this morning (Wednesday January 10) that lights near Evesham had gone off due to the batteries being stolen.
An engineer from Sun Traffic was called who has now put new batteries into the lights.
Inspector Gareth Morgan, of Evesham Town North and Rural South policing team said that the police had only had one call about the lights, and that no traffic problems had been reported.
