THE founder of the Farm Animal Sanctuary in Evesham has completed a skydive from 15,000 feet.

Jan Taylor, 77, founder of the Farm Animal Sanctuary and Theresa Mcguaran, 53, a volunteer at the sanctuary put themselves to the ultimate test by being pushed out of an aeroplane at 15,000 feet, free fall for 1 minute reaching a speed of 150mph, and then floating in mid-air for five minutes.

Mrs Taylor said: " it was a real test of faith for both of us. Neither of us like flying and neither of us like heights, plus I suffer from travel sickness.

"We did it to raise funds to purchase field shelters to accommodate our growing number of rescued animals - as well as provide ongoing care to our sanctuary residents. Would we do it again? Watch this space?"

The Farm Animal Sanctuary is still welcoming donations to support their work. To help, visit www.thefarmanimalsanctuary.co.uk
