DOGS Trust Evesham is appealing for foster carers who have experience in hand-rearing litters to help care for puppies in their first days and weeks.

The trust are looking for homes where someone is at home all day with no young children and who has experience of pregnant bitches and hand-rearing young puppies.

The foster home should be no more than 30 minutes away from the centre in Wickhamford, Evesham.

The Home From Home fostering scheme places dogs of all shapes and sizes into temporary homes whilst they wait to be adopted, including puppies who need 24 hour care.

Sarah Galvin, Home From Home co-ordinator at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “From time to time, we get pregnant bitches arrive at the centre who need to be made comfortable in the lead up to the birth of their pups, as well as puppies who arrive after losing their mum and need to be urgently hand-reared.

“We are looking to add people with this experience to our Home From Home Scheme and are appealing for anyone who fits the bill to get in touch.”

Dogs Trust will provide full support to the family as well as covering all food and veterinary costs. Applicants will be interviewed and home checked as part of the fostering process.
