PUPILS at Harvington CE First and Nursery school have demonstrated their commitment to helping the environment.
Eco ministers and representatives from across the school have worked with eco leader Jackie Clark to fundraise for and buy new recycling bins for the playground and introduced new processes where both food and packaging waste from the school kitchen is washed and recycled.
In response to recent concerns surrounding plastic pollution the school is no longer using plastic straws and individual milk cartons, replacing them with large containers of milk and re-usable beakers, saving the waste of approximately 100 plastic straws a day.
