PETROLHEADS are gearing up for a popular annual car show.

A wide variety of cars will be on display in the city’s streets as part of the 12th Worcester Motor Show.

Visitors will be able to see 42 cars proudly on display from 15 dealerships at next Saturday’s event, which has been organised by the Worcester News.

Cars, including Vauxhalls, Suzukis, Skodas, Citroens and Mazdas, will be parked along the High Street, from Elgar’s statue to The Cross.

A talent show for local performers is also being held in Cathedral Square as part of the show.

The winners of the talent show will be announced at 4pm, with the top performer set to win £500.

Louise Avery, the organiser, said: “People should come along as we have a selection of cars from local dealers and we have entertainment in Cathedral Square thanks to Pershore Motor Group.

“It includes a talent contest and other activities, including face painting and Nuffield Health [gym] are doing mini MOT health checks.

“It’s a good opportunity to see cars. It’s not as intimidating as a showroom, it gives people a chance to see other brands.

“People can have an informal chat about the car without the pressure of a showroom.”

The overall event will take place between 9am and 5pm.
