JUNE’S meeting opened with an address from president Carla Auger welcoming three new ladies and sending birthday wishes to two members. She talked about upcoming events including a visit to an open garden in August, and a trip to Kew Gardens in July. There is a flower festival in St. Peter’s church Bengeworth on June 23 and 24 where one of our ladies is putting in a display along with others taking part.

In August there is an evening of light and music at Avon Croft museum tickets are available for anyone to enjoy. We also had a successful skittles evening where many members and partners enjoyed a social fun time.

Our speaker this month was Val from ACWW who talked about their projects in overseas countries getting clean water and educating young women, it was a very interesting talk and slide show. It is the WI’s linked charity supporting women and communities worldwide.

We meet every second Tuesday in the month any new ladies are very welcome, our talk next month on July 10, is “thrifty cooking”from Jelly Pickle Jam.

Many of our members meet every Tuesday morning 10.30 at Amber cafe anyone is welcome, we also have a book club and you can follow us on our Facebook page or twitter.
