VISITORS to Bishampton’s annual Bish Bosh Bash fete can look forward to being both shaken and stirred by the arrival of a special vehicle for its classic car display.

Gaydon-based Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust is loaning a sleek emerald green V8 1998 Jaguar XKR from the Bond film ‘Die Another Day’.

The XKR was made famous for its appearance in the dramatic care chase on ice, filmed in Iceland, and driven by villain Zao, played by Rick Une.

The car was built on a four-wheel drive chassis and equipped with a Gatling gun mounted centrally behind the seats, while further armaments, included missiles fired through the front grille, rocket launchers in the doors and mortar bombs in the boot.

Also on show will be icons of the 60s, a Triumph Stag, the Mini Cooper S, and an historic Porsche, thanks to village petrolhead Tim King, a member of Midland Automobile Club who has organised this section of the fete

Martin Dickinson, chair of the organising committee said: “We are very privileged indeed to have this prestigious car at our event and I’m sure that it will be a very popular item on display. Our thanks to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust for allowing us to borrow it.

“Bish Bosh Bash, now in its third year, has a wealth of activities on offer for the whole family, and opportunities to enter competitions such as the Fun Dog Show, and a unique ‘Bishcuit’ baking competition to become this year’s champion Bishcuiteer.”

Stalls of all shapes and sizes will surround St. James’ churchyard from 1pm until 4.30pm on Saturday July 14 and entertainment by Worcester Concert Brass and Faithful City Morris will be the icing on the cake for a traditional afternoon of fun.
