THREE dogs were rescued by fire crews after a "severe" house fire in Evesham.

Firefighters were called to Pershore Road, with one person taken to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A woman in her 30s was given oxygen and drugs to help her breathe before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital as a precaution.

A man in his 40s was discharged at the scene.

Both the occupants of the house had managed to get themselves out before fire crews arrived.

All of the dogs were safe after being rescued.

One of the occupants of the house said: "The firemen last night were amazing. Truly amazing."
