The first-ever National Plum Day will take place on Saturday, August 11, with Pershore at the heart of the celebrations.
It will also celebrate the 90th birthday of Henry Sandon, national treasure and former presenter on The Antiques Roadshow who has been a long-time supporter of the festival.
The Pershore Plum Festival takes place throughout August and celebrates the town’s long association with plums of all varieties, becoming a sea of purple and yellow to reflect the colours of its two most famous plums – the Pershore Purple and the Pershore Yellow Egg Plum.
National Plum Day will be celebrated with a major presentation to Mr Sandon, music, celebrations and the opportunity to try as many different plum varieties as you can find.
