THE UK’s oldest Farm Animal Sanctuary, based at Middle Littleton, near Evesham, is getting ready for an art auction with a difference.
Local and national prize winning artists have joined together for the charity art auction to raise funds to support the 550 animal residents who have found their forever home.
Jan Taylor, sanctuary founder, said: "At our open day on Sunday, September 2, visitors will be able to view the original artwork, meet some of the artists (and animals) and place a bid on art.
"It’s a fun day out featuring craft stalls, animal welfare talks and vegan food.’ Jan and her welfare team have to raise £3000 per week to cover specialist feed and veterinary care for pigs, sheep, horses, alpacas and cows at the farm near Evesham.
Some of the best loved residents have been captured in the paintings including Matilda; a turkey who was rescued at Christmas by a dedicated supporter.
