A BIRTHDAY celebration at an Evesham pub was disrupted by the arrival of a 38-year-old woman who hit two of the guests, a court was told.
Sharon Dennick punched Rebecca Taylor in the face and then also hit Ian Perkins on the head when he stepped between the two women, said Nicholas Berry, prosecuting at Worcester Crown Court.
Dennick, aged 38, of Oak Tree Crescent, Evesham, pleaded guilty to assault by beating and assault causing actual bodily harm during the attack in the Karma pub.
She was given a sixth-month jail sentence suspended for two years and will be supervised by the probation service for 18 months. She will be electronically tagged and must observe an 8pm to 6am curfew for four months.
Michael Aspinall, defending, said Dennick had mixed alcohol with valium tablets and now regretted her actions.
Recorder Denis Desmond said she had a history of violent offending but he was giving her a last chance even though the offence crossed the custody threshold
