NOW is the time for the people of Evesham to take the 30-mile round trip into Worcester and show the town's football team your support.
After Saturday's trip to Stourbridge, the new table toppers have four successive matches at St George's Lane, the home of Worcester City, so there's plenty of opportunities to cheer on Paul West's rampant Robins.
After losing at home to Leamington on September 22 last year, United have played 18 league games, 15 of which have been won, two drawn and one lost at home to Bishops Cleeve on New Year's Day.
Five straight wins and a draw, culminating in Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat of Romulus, have lifted Evesham into top spot, two points ahead of Leamington having played one match fewer.
Accumulated Forty seven points out of a possible 54 have been accumulated in the past four and a half months at an average of two goals per game while conceding a meagre ten.
Nathan Vaughan failed to keep a fifth successive clean sheet against Romulus when two first half goals did the trick for the happy hosts.
"It wasn't pretty out there but we had a job to do and did it well," declared a delighted West.
"Teams are going to make it difficult for us and I knew Romulus would. They have taken four points off Chasetown this season and beaten Leamington so it was never going to be easy.
"But again we have showed our fighting spirit, scored two good goals and did we what had to do to go top."
The Evesham chief also revealed that some of his players weren't happy last weekend when they found their pay had been docked for not attending training.
"That's s a decision I made and they have to live with it," West declared. "That's all part of the discipline factor that I have tried to instill this season and, you will see from our excellent disciplinary record, that it's working."
FA Cup giantkillers Chasetown are the visitors next Tuesday night for a 7.45pm kick-off when a fourth successive home win will boost United's promotion chances while also denting those of one of their main rivals.
The Staffordshire side are currently 14 points behind the Robins who have played four more mat-ches but they will still fancy their chances of closing the gap as they did to add more gloss to their fabulous season.
Leighton Town are the visitors on Saturday, February 16, it's the return meeting with Stourbridge three days later and Bedworth are at the Lane on Saturday, February 23.
So why not fill a car and take the half-hour drive into the Faithful City and show your support for an Evesham team that are now favourites to lift the Division One Midlands title.
