Robins on top but Mark misses great chance

3:21pm Saturday 15th March 2008

DANIEL Lennon was in lively mood and his 23rd minute centre was only cleared as far as Danny Hodnett whose on target volley from 20 yards was charged down.

Lennon was again involved after 28 minutes but his shot after a run across the 18-yard area was saved by Martyn Patching who then held the Evesham player's attempted centre a minute later.

Patching then had no trouble fielding Simon Fitter's 25-yard free-kick but the keeper could only push out Lennon's left-footer before safely retrieving the striker's subsequent centre.

Patching then clutched a wayward Fitter cross as Evesham turned on the pressure and they could have broken the deadlock ten minutes before the break.

Michael Hayden and Gary Hay combined to leave Mark Hands with clear sight of goal but the midfield man could only shoot tamely at Patching from 18 yards.
