A PORTRAIT of a well-respected judge who died during last year's serious flooding has been unveiled.
Judge Eric Dickinson, aged 68, sat as a county court judge across the West Midlands for 23 years and Evesham was one of his favourites. He tragically lost his life on June 25 after his car was swept away by floodwater at Bow Brook near Pershore.
The painting of Judge Dickinson was commissioned by the Worcestershire Law Society and was first shown at a memorial concert held in his honour at Worcester Cathedral in April.
The portrait was produced by former art teacher Janet Jarvis who began work on the project in January using photographs of Judge Dickinson that were taken on the day before he died.
Among Judge Dickinson's many achievements included being a founding member of the Worcester Severn Rotary Club, twice chairman of the Three Choirs Festival and a former chairman of the South Worcestershire Victim Support Service.
He left his wife Gill, sons William and Mark, daughter Emma and six grandchildren.
