Concert raises money for charity

ST JOHN the Baptist Church, Fladbury, hosted a Spring Concert and over £600 was raised for Help For Heroes and church maintenance.

The concert featured a wide range of music from Renaissance to modern, performed by Sutton Brass Ensemble and, the Sutton Trombone Choir and the Move on up Pershore Community Choir.

Sutton Brass, based in Sutton Coldfield, was conducted by Richard Elliott, head of music at Planstbrook School and a tuba player with the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra. The choir has just completed its first year under the direction of Alice Robin, an experienced choir trainer whose ethos is that everyone has a unique voice.

The musicians hope that this will be the first of a long association between them and the church for future charitable activities.

A vote of thanks was given by Philip Hildesley, church warden.
