Firms get go-ahead for new signs

TWO businesses located at the recently constructed Evesham Trade Centre received a planning boost this week.

Magnet and Topps Tiles have applied for permission for various signs to be placed at their premises on the trade centre on St Richard's Road.

Kitchen supplier Magnet has three units on site and this week Evesham Town Council approved plans for corporate signs to be placed on the building.

Cllr Robert Raphael said at the meeting: "I would say that any illuminated signs should be switched off when the building is closed."

Topps Tiles applied for permission to install main company signs and illuminated signs showing goods for sale.

Members approved the plans with Cllr Gerry O'Donnell adding: "We should ensure that that all illumiated signs are switched off at the end of trading as it is in the sightline of the buildings nearby."

The applications now go to Wychavon District Council for full approval.

Construction work on the Evesham Trade Centre was completed earlier this year in April and so far 16 units have been let to businesses with four still available.
