STUDENTS from Pershore High School joined hundreds of thousands across the country in celebrating their A-level results last Thursday.

Head teacher Clive Corbett said he was pleased with this year’s results, and judging by the reactions of the students at the school, so were they.

Rebecca Haines, 18, got two As and a B.

She said: “I worked my ass off, I’m really pleased and my family are ecstatic.

“I have a confirmed offer from Birmingham University to do Psychology, and may well look towards a career in psychology. I’ll have to see how it goes.”

Reena Bhatt, 18, got an A and two Bs.

She said: “I’m over the moon.

“I hope to go to Aston University, in Birmingham, to study International Business Management.”

Katie Train, 18, got three As.

She said: “I am ecstatic and I think I cried when I got my results.

“Now I’d like to go to Loughborough University to do Sports Studies.”

Sam Peirce, 18, got three As and a B.

He said: “I’m pretty happy, it’s what I wanted and means I can go to the University of Bath to study Mechanical Engineering.

“My family don’t know my grades yet but I think they will be pleased.”

Beth Pope, 18, also got three A’s.

She said: “I worked hard for them and was a bit worried I messed up.

“I have confirmation of entry to the University of Warwick to study Psychology and that’s probably what I’m going to do.”

Mr Corbett added: “This year’s results are very pleasing. We know just how hard the students have worked as well as the staff who supported them.

“What matters is how well they do as individuals which will enable them to move on to university or into careers and further training.

“This is what it’s all about.”
