New way to buy local food

IN an age when people are increasingly concerned as to where their food comes from and how it is made, one Glouc-estershire business thinks it has the answers.

Buy-Local.net (Gloucestershire) is aiming to deliver high quality produce direct to the door.

“People simply want good quality food that they can trust,” said Rhian Marcham, managing director of Buy-Local.net.

“Gloucestershire has so many fantastic producers of local food and other products but they do not get the recognition they deserve.

“Meat, vegetables, fruit and dairy products are all of a premium quality at competitive prices but the convenience of the supermarkets takes a vast proportion of their market away from them.

“People are becoming more aware of food miles and environmental impact and are beginning to discover what this great county has to offer. We aim to give them great local produce, delivered at their convenience.”

The company provides an online market for local produce and local suppliers, delivered straight to the door.

“This is something that we at Buy-Local have always been extremely passionate about. Personally, I don’t think you can beat the quality and taste of local food that has only left the farm on the same day. To me that is far greater convenience than the supermarkets can offer.”
