FIVE people were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences in Evesham and Honeybourne yesterday (9) as police carried out a series of raids.

Officers from Evesham CID and South Worcestershire’s Operational Intelligence Unit executed four warrants as part of the successful operation linked to drugs in Evesham.

Four men and one woman were arrested during the operation. Four were later released on police bail and one remains in custody while enquiries continue.

Detective inspector Jon Wallis said: “Concerns were raised by officers and members of the community in relation to some drugs activity in the area which led to four warrants being executed.

“A quality of controlled drugs, thought to be heroin and cannabis, were seized at the properties and arrests were made on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and burglary.”

Det Insp Wallis added: “This activity reflects our continued determination to stamp out any drug-related, unlawful activity in Evesham.

“We hope the arrests reassure residents as will the continued activity and increased patrols in the area.”

This is the kind of news I like to read about - About time something was done with the druggies who live in Evesham. I'm sick of the drug activity down my street, and if this is the first step in getting something done to rid the streets of these losers, then I welcome the Polices determination to (and I quote) "stamp out any drug-related, unlawful activity in Evesham"
