ECKINGTON Manor’s luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation at Lower End House has been given the highest possible award for guest accommodation - a 5 star gold.

Only two other establishments boast such a rating in Worcestershire and there are just 58 in the entire country.

What makes this accolade even more remarkable is that this is the first rating Lower End House has been given, having only opened within the last 12 months.

Linked to Eckington Manor’s renowned cookery school, Lower End House is reputed to be one of the oldest historic houses in the county. It has been lovingly restored by Judy Gardner, owner of Eckington Manor, and her team, eclectically mixing the contemporary while retaining all the character of the house and its old world charm.

Long-burning stoves. a beautifully-appointed kitchen complete with Aga, crisp white linen and a couch that once graced Windsor Castle, are just some of the touches that make a stay at Lower End House special.

Each of the five en-suite bedrooms are unique and breakfast features lovingly prepared produce such as fruit compote made in the cookery school, together with sausage and bacon from the manor’s own farm.

Wychavon Tourism Officer, Angela Tidmarsh, said: “This is a hugely prestigious award for Lower End House and completely well-deserved. It underlines the fact that Worcestershire is increasingly becoming a top destination for a weekend break.”

She added: “Lower End House offers boutique-hotel style chic with a rural twist and a warm welcome which is competitively priced so making it an ideal retreat for couples, families, hen weekends and even corporate groups looking for something different.”

Well done, Judy!

I wondered where you had gone - now I know!

Good luck for the future -

Stan.
