THERE was good news for patients in Worcestershire as the county mental health partnership and acute hospitals trust received glowing reviews.
Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust received an ‘excellent’ rating for the quality of its services from the Healthcare Commission for the second year running. It was praised for meeting core standards as well as existing and new NHS targets.
Ros Keeton, chief executive of the mental health partnership trust said: “We were particularly pleased that our service users reported that they have confidence in our staff and that staff listen to them and treat them with dignity and respect.”
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust also had reason to celebrate as the quality of its hospital’s in Worcester, Redditch and Kidderminster were praised by the independent health watchdog.
This years ‘good’ rating is a vast improvement on the ‘weak’ which it received last year. Trust chairman Michael O’Riordan said that the rating proved that that they were moving forward and delivering ‘high quality and value for money hospital care.’ He added: “The year on year improvement in our ratings should be seen as a a huge vote of confidence in our staff and a clear message to the people of Worcestershire that we are committed to giving them the standard of hospital care that they want and deserve.”
The Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is offering people the chance to learn more about its work through a series of consultation meetings.
Pershore residents can take part in one such meeting in the Committee Room at the Wychavon Civic Centre on Monday, November 3 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
