A PUDDING promotion at The Dormy House Hotel in Broadway, which saw diners enjoy deserts from the 1970s for just 25p, went down a treat.
To celebrate the launch of the hotel’s archive room, visitors to the Barn Owl Restaurant got to sample delectable desserts such as lemon meringue pie and chocolate mousse at the historic price tag.
Eighty puddings were sold during the week-long offer from Monday, February 16. Diners had a choice of two puddings at 1970 prices.
The archive room was adorned with menus featuring sirloin steak priced at £1.45 and vintage Bollinger at just £4.50 a bottle as the hotel went back in time.
Photographs of the many celebrities who have stayed at the hotel in the past were also on show.
Orazio Pollaci, sales and marketing manager, said: “The 25p pudding week and archive launch was a great success.
“There was a lot of interest in the room and articles, newspaper cuttings, stories and menus that hang on the wall.”
n The hotel is hoping to attract diners to lunch throughout March with a menu designed to mark next week’s Cheltenham Festival. A special ‘under starters’ promotion will be on offer for the whole month.
