THE Eckington Flower Festival and Open Gardens takes place this weekend and promises to be a great family day out.
The festival is on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from noon each day. The flower festival takes place at Holy Trinity Church, where the theme for this year’s displays is ‘memories’.
There will also be many gardens open, some offering refreshments and stalls. School children and the youth group will also be putting on a charity shop fashion show at the village hall at 2pm on Sunday.
Other attractions include vintage tractors and engines on Saturday, a craft fayre, a beer festival in the Anchor on Saturday, maypole dancing from 2pm in the school playground and classic cars. Entry is £4 for adults and free for children. For details, visit eckington.info.
