THE Mayor of Evesham, Coun Alan Booth, has issued heartfelt thanks to all those who made the town’s Civic Service a resounding success at the weekend.
The service, which took place at All Saints Church on Sunday (14), was a chance to strengthen the bonds between the church and the civic community.
Alan said: “It was a well attended event, the chairman of Wychavon, Andrew Dyke, was there along with a host of other civic dignitaries from around the county.
“The barbershop choir from Prince Henry’s High School were absolutely brilliant and entertained everyone, while the service itself was conducted by the Vicar of Evesham, Andrew Spurr, assisted by Caroline Homan from the Evesham Methodist Church.
“Along with townsfolk, the Evesham Sea cadets were in attendance and the Explorer Scouts provided the guard of honour.
“Everyone said they really enjoyed it, and I’d like to thank everyone for turning up and making it a lovely occasion.”
