TRAIN passengers worried about disruption when the Cotswold Line closes for six weeks this summer are being given a chance to put their minds at ease.
A series of Meet the Manager sessions have been arranged at stations along the track including Evesham and Moreton, to give passengers the chance to discuss the work being done and the alternative travel arrangements being put in place for them.
The first of these sessions takes place at Evesham Station on Monday from 6.30pm to 8pm. The following evening, Cotswold train users can go along to Moreton station to learn more about the plans from 7pm to 8.30pm.
There are also dates at Kingham on Tuesday from 7am-8.30am, at Charlbury on Wednesday from 7am-8.30pm and Worcester Shrub Hill from 6.30pm-8pm.
The plan to redouble the Cotswold Line was taken to offer passengers a better rail experience through easing congestion, helping improve train punctuality, increase the number of train services and a planned reduction in journey times.
The first phase of the work has been planned to take place during the school summer holidays to minimise disruption. The route will be affected for six weeks beginning on July 18.
The Line will be closed between Oxford and Worcester from July 18 to August 3, between Moreton and Evesham from August 3 to August 24 and from Oxford to Worcester from August 24 to September 1.
Services will run as normal wherever possible but alternative transport such as buses and coaches will be laid on if required.
