MUSIC lovers are urged to get themselves along to the final few days of the Evesham Festival of Music, which began yesterday.
The festival is one of the biggest dates in Evesham’s calendar and is sure to raise the roof at venues all across the town.
Drawing to a close on Sunday, there is still plenty of time to catch the acts including the culmination of the festival – the Gala Night & Last Night of the Proms –the closing concert at All Saints’ Church on Sunday.
The Festival Chorus, Beauchamp Sinfonettia and a range of soloists including the winner of the Evesham musician of the year competition combine in this spectacular evening.
Before that however, the streets will be alive with the sound of music as artists and musicians come together to celebrate the wealth of local musical talent, while helping residents to enjoy their summer evenings.
Evesham’s Riverside Centre will be the focus of the festival’s fringe events on Saturday.
From 9am to 4pm, musical groups will be performing various pieces and choral groups will be singing along with groups from the Evesham U3A, the Ouja folk Group from Pershore and the Harvington Handbell Ringers.
The Pershore-based Move On Up will also be performing in Market Square at 11am, ensuring a feast of sounds will entertain shoppers throughout the town.
Tickets are available from The Almonry on 01386 442348 or Evesham Travel Centre on 01386 41474. For more information, visit eve shamfestivalofmusic.org.uk.
