GREEN-fingered over 50s in the Vale can have a hand in managing an allotment thanks to a charity.
The Gardening Circle run by Age Concern Herefordshire and Worcestershire through their Greenagers project was officially launched by Pershore mayor Cllr Chris Parsons at the town’s Defford Road Allotments on Wednesday (1).
Scheme manager, Pat Caitlin, has carefully planned an allotment over the past 12 months to transform it from an overgrown plot to a site with areas for growing fruit, vegetables, flowers, raised beds and a social area for meeting friends.
She is now appealing for over 50s in the area who would like to be involved in the development and maintenance of the plot.
The charity has a number of gardening circles across the south of the district and for more information call Pat or John Lester on 01386 555744 or email ageconcernpershore@achw.org.uk
