A THERMAL map which shows Vale residents and businesses how well insulated their property is has gone live this month.

The map, available at warmerworcestershire.com, allows residents to enter their postcode and see an image of their property that shows how much heat is being lost through the roof.

The thermal image of the entire county was captured between November 2008 and March 2009 on cold, clear winter nights, so a distinction can easily be made.

Statistics reveal that for a poorly insulated property, £1 out of every £3 spent on heating could be wasted.

The website includes information on ways to insulate your home, helpful hints on using energy more efficiently and advice on free or cut price insulation.

Free ‘thermocards’ which provide a guide to the optimum temperature for your home will also be available from Warmer Worcestershire stands at various local events taking place over the summer, such as the Pershore Plum Festival in August.
