A POPULAR fairy tale was given a rock ‘n’ roll twist by children at Broadway First School for their end of year production.
The pupils performed Cinderella Rockerfella in front of a packed house at the village’s Lifford Memorial Hall on Wednesday and Thursday (July 1 and 2).
The story follows rock star Rocky Rockerfella who decides to ditch his fame and fortune in favour of finding his one true love, Cinderella.
But Fairy Nasty Boots wants to steal Rocky’s throne and will stop at nothing to keep him apart from Cinderella.
She poisons his food with a love potion but the Fairy Godmother saves the day and Rocky and Cinderella live happily ever after.
Headteacher Mike Appleby said the children performed brilliantly despite the heat and short time in which they had to rehearse.
“It’s amazing what the children are capable of doing,” he said.
“It was a good way to finish the year and for those children who are leaving for secondary school to shine and show what they can do.”
