THE death of an Evesham workman who suffered an 11,000 volt electric shock while unloading rubble near Badsey, was an accident, a coroner ruled today.

Johnny Davies, aged 46, of Offenham Road, died as a result of brain damage caused by a lack of oxygen, when his heart stopped during the incident on February 19.

Mr Davies, suffered a heart attack when the grab-arm of a lorry he was operating, touched an overhead electric cable on land off Bretforton Road.

Mr Davies’ son, also called Johnny, was with him at the time of the accident and was also present at Stourport Coroners Court this afternoon, as Worcestershire Coroner Geraint Williams delivered his verdict of accidental death.
