A FLADBURY woman will join dozens of other motorists for a rose-tinted fund-raising road trip.
Vanessa Chapman is taking part in the Pink Car Rally from Hereford Hospital to Birmingham Children’s Hospital on September 6 in aid of The Little Princess Trust, which sources and pays for real hair wigs for children who have lost their hair, primarily through cancer treatment.
Vanessa, who heard about the rally through a friend, said she was looking forward to taking part in the event with her pink Honda Jazz ‘Pip’.
“I’m proud to do something about this with my ludicrously coloured car,” she said. “I’m excited already.
There’s a lot of support going on for it and I’m rallying round all of Facebook finding people who like pink who might want to take part.”
About 40 cars have been signed up to the rally, which starts at 10am, including a couple in Swindon with a pink London taxi and a women-only cab firm in Manchester which has a fleet of pink cars.
Vanessa has reached just over half of her £300 fund-raising target and anyone who would like to sponsor her can do so at just giving.com/VanessaChapmanPinkCarRally.
