THE Midland Game Fair at Weston Park, Staffordshire, this weekend, is one of the big countryside events of the year. The huge range of attractions and areas of interest include the world’s most comprehensive airgun expo, gunmaker’s row, carrilon fishing village, gamekeeper’s row and the Countryman Fairs food village. The main arena will showcase entertaining acts such as the Band of the Brigade of Ghurkhas, Jive Pony, Cyril the Squirrel and his terrier antics. Gus Dermody of the BBC’s One Man and his Dog will be showing his sheep herding skills for the last time before retirement.
